Learning outcomes	Standardize chemical fundaments for application in engineering. Knowing the chemical concepts to understand and justify the applied phenomena. Recognize the basic concepts of chemistry and learn to apply their contents. Identify the chemical compounds. Know the differences between the types of chemical reactions. Determine energy capacity in chemical reactions. Understand the electronic structure of atoms. Analyze the chemical bonds between atoms. Realize the effect of properties of liquid, solid and solutions Understand and nominate organic compounds and realize the difference of compounds due to the presence of different functional groups in organic molecules. Analyze the effect of corrosion on the materials. Learn to relate the transmitted concepts and apply them in the disciplines of later years.

Teaching Methodologies and Assessment Criteria	The methodology of teaching this UC focuses on student and is organized into three parts: theoretical lessons, theoretical-practical lessons and laboratory lessons. In theoretical classes are taught the syllabus, theoretical-practical classes are for resolution of application problems and in laboratory classes experiments will be performed applied to real cases and also will be learned the basic rules of safety in a laboratory. The evaluation of this control will be continuous doing UC attendance, partial testing, evaluation of problems resolution, and in laboratory lessons will be made an assessment of the achievement of the practical work and through the analysis of the report drawn up by students.
