Learning outcomes |
This UC is generalist in nature. It is therefore in this perspective that it is expected that the student acquires the basic knowledge and skills to perform functions of responsibility at the Production Function level, or another that, within a company or organization, relate to it. The student should: -Understand the terminology, concepts, principles and methodology of Production / Operations Management; -Relate Production Function with other functional areas of the Company; -Apply the appropriate models, techniques and methods in Production / Operations Management; -Understand the principles and organizational structure of the new strategies of Operations; -Evaluate the implementation of models, techniques and / or fundamental methods of Production / operations Management, in real situations; -Categorize written material in journals on various aspects of Production / Operations Management.

Teaching Methodologies and Assessment Criteria |
Classes are theoretical-practical with exposure of material by teachers and also with the participation of students. When applicable, case studies drawn from specialized Journals and books (about the reality of businesses environment) will be analysed. In addition, monitoring exercises will be provided to students for practical classes. Students’ participation through discussion and problems resolution is recommended and desirable. In the evaluation process, the following elements will be considered: . First test - 50 % - 14th november . Second Test - 50 % - 12th december Students who reach a final classification over 10 will be exempted from exams. In order to gain access to exams, students must reach at least a final classification equal to 6. Any other situation will be analyzed in light of the general rules for knowledge evaluation of the university.
