The present unit intends to promote capabilities of research, design and development concerning to the manufacturing process. Students should recognize different manufacturing processes, its mechanisms, its potential and limitations for the different type of materials.

Syllabus |
Introduction; Materials; Manufacturing techniques used to form: Metals, Polymers, Composites, Ceramics; Classification of manufacture process of shaping, joining and finishing. Design guidelines for the selection/application of the different manufacturing techniques. Quality Control in mechanical manufacturing. Project: Application of methodologies of selection of manufacture process.
