Teaching Methodologies and Assessment Criteria The teaching methods adopted in the unit will be based on the top-down analysis of several cases that provides motivating for learning the subjects. The learning is based on guided reading, laboratory works, a final project and bibliographic research. The unit is organized into two types of classes: Theoretical classes: Lectures on subject exposition, and study-discussion-resolution of cases (problems). Practical classes: Lectures of laboratory character where students perform laboratory works and a final project.
Calculation of final grade:
TAS - Analysis and Synthesis Work (15%)
Ex - Exercises (30%) PLC programming exercises series.
Pj - Industrial process automation project (35%). Industrial process automation project(s) with presentation and final discussion. Minimum approval grade for the project component is 10 (ten) values.
Pr - Exam (20%)

Final classification, CF: CF = TAS + Ex + Pj + Pr
Language Portuguese. Tutorial support is available in English.
