Teaching Methodologies and Assessment Criteria This course unit runs for one academic semester, with 60 contact hours with the instructor—30 hours of theoretical–practical classes and 30 hours of lectures. Classes will have two components: Expository (where the instructor presents the material and points for analysis) and Practical (where the instructor conducts a hands-on exercise). A flipped-classroom methodology will be used, whereby the instructor provides materials for students to study before class.
This lesson plan with continuous assessment encourages sustained student engagement throughout the course. Assessment consists of two midterm exams (80%) and individual practical exercises (20%).
Students must obtain a minimum final grade of 9.5 to pass the course. Students with a grade below 6 in any assessment component will not be admitted to the exams. Grade improvement is only possible by taking a final exam.
