Learning outcomes |
The aim of this course is to equip students with a set of skills and competences that, right from the initial cycle of their training, will commit them for an annual period of two semesters with a research activity in the field of philosophy, culminating this learning process in the writing of a short essay. To this end, the teaching of the UC should create the conditions for 1. Familiarize the student with the practices of specific research directed to philosophical themes; 2. Enable the student to present in writing the result of a reflection on a philosophical theme and/or problem; 3. To enable the student to discuss in an academic context the result of the research produced.
|
Syllabus |
The syllabus will be developed in an annual seminar over two semesters, based on a set of themes to be defined prospectively at the beginning of the first of the two semesters (see additional information immediately below).
|
Main Bibliography |
The bibliography will be selected, inventoried, and focused according to each student's philosophical background, taking into account the reflective profile of the respective thematic research.
|
Teaching Methodologies and Assessment Criteria |
The final classification will result from the weighted average of the following evaluation components: 1. Essay text (between 10-15 pages, with a maximum tolerance of 20 pages) assessable by the 2 professors of the UC 2. Public oral defense of the essay produced before a panel formed by 2 UC professors and 1 guest 3. Attitude in class (interest, participation, completion of requested tasks, etc.)
NB! Minimum attendance and completion of a work with public presentation in the last class of the 1st semester constitute indispensable conditions for transition to follow-up monitoring in the 2nd semester: the unverification of this double requirement at the end of the 1st semester implies unconditional failure.
