Learning outcomes |
Introduce and develop aspects related to two-lane highways’ traffic conditions, providing trainees with the necessary theoretical and practical knowledge and skills to analyse two-lane highways’ level of service and capacity. Skills: (a) Mastery of the theoretical and practical knowledge that supports the analysis of road traffic conditions on two-lane highways, in particular aspects related to the determination of capacity and level of service.

1. INTRODUCTION HCM, fundamental concepts of level of service and capacity, the importance of determining road capacity and level of service. 2. ANALYSIS OF TWO-LANE HIGHWAY LEVEL OF SERVICE AND CAPACITY Scope and limitations of the methodology, two-lane highways, base conditions, input data and typical values, operational analysis: procedure for determining the level of service and capacity of two-lane highways segments. 3. EXERCISES.
