Learning outcomes 1. Know the history of development and production of textile fibers, focusing on the 20th century.
2.Analyze the environmental impact of the production and consumption of textile materials.
3.Characterize and enhance textile materials, which boost sustainable development and ecological balance.
4.Specify technological processes for reusing textile materials and recycling fibers.
5.Studying examples of good practices in the production of materials for sustainable and ethical fashion.
At the end of the course, students should be able to plan and promote a campaign to value sustainable textile materials.
Syllabus 1.Historical summary of the development and production of textile fibers.
2.Environmental impact of the production and consumption of textile fibers: statistical data, models and tools for quantification.
3.Characterization of textile fibers, natural and non-natural, which enhance sustainable development and ecological balance: production, properties, biodegradability.
4.Innovation and development of new materials.
5. Textile technologies for production with less environmental impact.
6. Textile technologies for reuse and recycling of textile fibers: management of technological processes, circularity.
7. Case study and good practices in the production of materials for sustainable and ethical fashion.
8.Campaigns to value sustainable textile materials.
