Learning outcomes |
1. Know the history of development and production of textile fibers, focusing on the 20th century. 2.Analyze the environmental impact of the production and consumption of textile materials. 3.Characterize and enhance textile materials, which boost sustainable development and ecological balance. 4.Specify technological processes for reusing textile materials and recycling fibers. 5.Studying examples of good practices in the production of materials for sustainable and ethical fashion. At the end of the course, students should be able to plan and promote a campaign to value sustainable textile materials.

Syllabus |
1.Historical summary of the development and production of textile fibers. 2.Environmental impact of the production and consumption of textile fibers: statistical data, models and tools for quantification. 3.Characterization of textile fibers, natural and non-natural, which enhance sustainable development and ecological balance: production, properties, biodegradability. 4.Innovation and development of new materials. 5. Textile technologies for production with less environmental impact. 6. Textile technologies for reuse and recycling of textile fibers: management of technological processes, circularity. 7. Case study and good practices in the production of materials for sustainable and ethical fashion. 8.Campaigns to value sustainable textile materials.

Teaching Methodologies and Assessment Criteria |
Active and cooperative teaching-learning methodologies were adapted that encourage reflection and value processes of a cognitive and interpersonal nature, defending the acquisition of concepts, problem solving, research, and practical work carried out in classes, centered on student and face-to-face. The final grade at the end of the Teaching-Learning period is calculated as follows: 30% Attendance test +20% Exercises in class + 40% research work + 10% Participation and commitment The student will be exempted from the Exam, if the final grade of teaching-learning period is greater than or equal to 10 values - Approved. Exam Grade: 60% of the score obtained during the teaching-learning period + 40% of the exam evaluation.
