Learning outcomes In this CU it is intended that the student complements his studies in Organic Chemistry in relation to some concepts not yet analyzed in CU
previous.
Know how to use the concept of protective group.
Elucidate the importance of natural and synthetic polymers.
Use carbohydrates in synthesis of molecules with biological activity.
Analyze heterocyclic compounds as a function of the number of heteroatoms.
Complement the concept of natural product.
Analyze organic compounds by spectroscopy.

Competencies:
Realize that it is possible to carry out certain reactions using groups protectors.
Know applications of polymeric compounds.
Know the characteristic reactions of carbohydrates.
Identify the different compoundsheterocyclic.
Discover new natural products with biological activity and know how to synthesize them.
Use the concepts of spectroscopy to characterize the structures of natural and synthetic organic compounds.
