Learning outcomes The objectives of the course are: 1) consolidate students' knowledge regarding the main determinants of macroeconomic equilibrium in the short and long run, as well as regarding economic fluctuations; 2) provide students with knowledge on the state of the art economic policy, on economic policy theory and promote their understanding of the decision making process in economic policy.

Teaching Methodologies and Assessment Criteria Topics of macroeconomic equilibrium and economic policy analysis are presented by the teacher during classes.Practical lectures include discussion of current reports, articles and issues relevant for the study of the particular topic in question.

The final evaluation results from the weighted mark of two components:
1) 50% for the writing, presentation and discussion of an assignment relative to an economic policy topic;
2) 50% for a written test.
Language Portuguese. Tutorial support is available in English.
