Apply procedures and rules used by the fashion design community to accurately capture, process and interpret relevant scientific and artistic data; Identify theoretical and practical aspects of research necessary to carry out research in the different areas, expressions and approaches of fashion design, with an appreciable degree of autonomy; Prepare a final work of original research that demonstrates in-depth knowledge of a relevant and technologically relevant and innovative fashion design problem and subject; Recognize methodological, planning and ethical procedures in research; Select research tools and tasks associated with different research interests, approaches and objectives; Plan a well-structured document through scientific writing.

1. Research methodologies. Framework and general perspective. Problematic. Field, object and theme. 2. Research on and through Design and by Drawing. Fashion Design at the confluence of Humanities and Technology. 3. Research in Fashion Design. Rules techniques for data collection, analysis and processing. The quality and quantity of the sample. Critical success questions. 4. Bibliographical research, relevance. Research strategies. Questions, hypotheses and analogies. Inductive, deductive and abductive logic. Experimentation. 5. Approaches to Research - the qualitative paradigm and the quantitative paradigm; Types of Research results. Study cases. 6. Operationalization of the research. Realization of the thesis plan and design and planning of pilots and experiments. 7. Validity and repeatability of research. Research Partnerships. Ethics in Design. 8. Teaching Methodologies and Assessment Criteria |
Research design proposal based on reflection on the relevance of the research in question, an independent review of the proposed literature and the presentation and discussion of case studies. Questions to consider: 1. Argumentation of the relevance of the topic; 2. Organizational chart of the research (draft); 3. Research timetable; 4. Rationale for the contribution; 5. Critical success issues; 6. Bibliographic references (support).
