Learning outcomes |
At the end of the course unit the student should be able to:
- theoretically, technically, creatively, and communicationally master the phenomenon of photography;
- identify fundamental genres, authors and movements in the history of photography;
- technically and artistically apply the photographic processes to objects and persons (product and advertising photography; portrait and fashion photography).

Syllabus |
. Theory and aesthetics: contextualization of photography art within its foundations (artistic movements and their interception with other artistic practices specifically the ones of painting);
. The fundamentals: composition and framing, documentary and other photography genres (portrait, landscape, fashion, advertising);
. The technique: mastering the camera (mechanisms, lenses, menus) and its principles of operation (photometry);
. The practice: photographic production exercises;
. Digital photo edition: Adobe Camera Raw and Adobe Photoshop.
