Learning outcomes |
To identify the processes underlying the companies' organization and management as well learn how to define, describe, analyze, compare and identify key issues affecting the modern management. At the end of this unit the student must be able: - To understand the emergence of organizations and the specific case of companies; - To understand the concept of entrepreneurship and the motives related to success and failure; - To identify the functions of management and the required abilities of a manager; - To know the tasks undertaken within each function of management; - To understand the challenges to the management nowadays. In addition it is intended the student mus be able: - To understand, to define, to apply and to discuss the concepts to practical situations whether exercises, case studies or action research about them. - To interact, to make decisions and to argue.

Teaching Methodologies and Assessment Criteria |
The student can choose, up until the set date, the assessment method to obtain approval for the UC, by: a) Continuous assessment. b) Assessment by exam This option can be exercised by means of a survey placed on Moodle and available until 25 October 2024 (if no option is expressed, continuous assessment will be considered by default). Continuous assessment will be carried out in two main assessment sessions with the following weightings: 1st frequency (30%) 2nd frequency (30%) Compulsory conditions for assessment by frequency: minimum mark of 7.5 in each. Class participation - Bonus up to 1v. Complementary work in class (TCA) - 10% (for this to be considered in the grade, the teacher will previously communicate the criteria to be met). Group work carried out in class (TGA) - 30%.
