Learning outcomes To know player’s intrinsic characteristic through their interaction behavior, individual and collective thinking, and systemic involvement with the physical and cognitive demands of digital games. Learn to deal with different tools and contact techniques such as observation, interviews, checklists, heuristic techniques, among other, enabling students to produce more efficient and user-centered solutions. As a result, this course trains future professionals in the development of digital artifacts projects with a high level of usability and control of the user-experience.
Syllabus Promote the discussion of key topics related to the field of User Experience in four modules:
MODULE 1. Characteristics of Interaction Design: provide, explore and discuss future scenarios; thinking through sketches and abstract concepts; Ethical, Aesthetic, Cultural, Technical and Functional concerns.
MODULE 2. Methodologies for User-Centered Design: ISO 9241-210, creation and evaluation of interfaces through card sorting, focus groups, task analysis, flowchart, "personas" creation, among others.
MODULE 3. Heuristics for digital games: concept, advantages and disadvantages of usability heuristics; Application of usability heuristics for evaluation and development; Discussion of work under the use of heuristics to digital games.
MODULE 4. User experience: Concepts, differences between Usability and User Experience and evaluation methods. The psychology of emotions; relationship between cognition-emotion and emotion-cognition; instruments for measuring emotions; gamers of emotion.

It will be timely given students a highly specialized support bibliography, according to the themes chosen by the students and in close coordination with the teacher.
Teaching Methodologies and Assessment Criteria Class based on exhibition / theoretical explanation in audiovisual;
• Debates based on real examples;
• Exercises focused in the use of the methods of generation and evaluation of alternatives (brainstorming, focus groups, card sorting, thinking aloud, cognitive walking through, heuristic evaluation);
• Team work to develop and evaluate proposals for graphical interfaces in multimedia environment using the methodology of UCD;
• Research in repositories for theoretical support;
• Monitoring the implementation of projects using the UCD methodology and techniques based on the standard ISO 13407.

Students with a final grade of less than 8 values (0-20) and less than 80% of attendance will not be approved.
