Learning outcomes |
Research classes aim to work on student autonomy in preparing a pre-research project, training and testing the ability to problematize reality, critical analysis and logical construction and linguistic correction of a scientific report. Develop in our students the ability to develop a pre-research project based on theoretical and methodological points of view. Develop advanced scientific research skills applied to Communication Sciences, with a focus on scientific research in journalism. Deepen understanding of the epistemological and methodological paradigms that structure contemporary research. Enable the design, implementation and evaluation of original research projects (including the dissertation). Master qualitative, quantitative and mixed analysis methodologies and techniques. Produce rigorous and publishable scientific knowledge.

Teaching Methodologies and Assessment Criteria |
In this U.C we opted for the continuous assessment system, based on active participation in classes, through the preparation and oral presentation of short works – research presentation and bibliographic review; presentation of relevant research questions; presentation of the selected methodology and the application of reference and bibliographic citation standards. The assessment methodology is an assessment, based on the student's demonstrated ability to articulate theory-method-techniques; articulation of research questions/object of investigation; selection of appropriate data collection methodologies and techniques for research; ability to analyze, reflect and criticize individual research pre-projects.
The final grade will also be awarded to the ability to present, in writing, a pre-research project. The degree of methodological, logical and linguistic correctness will be taken into account, as well as the choice of themes – 90%. Active participation in classes – (10%).
