Learning outcomes To present the key concepts associated with ESS and its importance;
To deepen the theoretical reflection on the processes associated to ESS in order to contribute to the investigation in this domain;
To deepen the knowledge of practices and guidelines of ESS.
At the end of the curricular unit the student should be able to analyze and critically discuss the main theories and concepts associated with the ESS domain; recognize different paradigms associated with ESS; discuss specific issues and problems of ESS demonstrating theoretical, methodological and empirical consistency in the arguments invoked; demonstrate competence in the application of theoretical knowledge to new problems and contexts within the framework of the ESS; demonstrate skills in the conception, organization and execution of theoretical and empirical works and autonomous development of learning activities; reveal proficiency in speech, presentation and use of support technologies.

CAP II - The foundations of the social and solidarity economy

Teaching Methodologies and Assessment Criteria The classes in this course are theoretical-practical, starting with the presentation of theoretical concepts and their evolution, as well as the characterization of the market / capitalist economy model and its social consequences. The societal response over time to the phenomena of marginalization and the challenges for the century. XXI are also presented and discussed. In order to achieve greater success in learning in each of the syllabus, the discussion of national and European experiences is encouraged. During the classes, we try to involve all students in the discussion in order to stimulate a critical analysis of their practical and theoretical implications.
The evaluation of this curricular unit is made throughout the semester, and the teaching-learning classification is obtained by atwo works, one individual (weight 0.4) and one group (power 0.6). Group work is constructed in a polystage way and presented/discussed in the classroom
Language Portuguese. Tutorial support is available in English.
