Learning outcomes |
The general objectives of this curricular unit are the following:
1) Teach the principles and methods inherent to UX (“user experience”) design tools to create meaningful experiences of interaction with new digital products.
2) Teach how to identify the user's intrinsic characteristics through their behavior when interacting with digital artifacts.
3) Promote the training of future professionals in UX Design.
Regarding the specific objectives, students should be able to:
1) Develop products according to the characteristics, needs and behavior of the user.
2) Identify the virtues and limitations of UX design methods and tools in the development of specific projects.
3) Develop an inclusive and user-centered mindset, applicable in personal and professional life.
4) Be part of an association of UX Design professionals and leaders from the world's leading companies.

Syllabus |
1) Characteristics of interaction design: predict, explore and problematize future scenarios; design through sketches and abstract concepts; ethical, aesthetic, cultural, functional and technical concerns.
2) User-centered design methodologies: ISO 9241-210; creation and evaluation of interfaces through card sorting, focus group, task analysis, flowchart, creation of “personas”, among others.
3) Heuristics for digital applications: concept, advantages and disadvantages of usability heuristics; application of usability heuristics for evaluation and development; discussion of works developed within the scope of the use of digital heuristics.
4) User experience: Concepts, differences between usability and user experience and evaluation methods; the psychology of emotions; emotion-cognition and cognition-emotion in digital products.
