Learning outcomes |
The main aim of the course is to develop scientific research skills in sports sciences, including an introduction to research planning, choosing the right experimental design and ways of presenting results. Thus, at the end of the course, the student should be able to: a. Understand the principles that guide scientific research, its purposes and the ethical problems it can raise; b. Know the stages of the scientific method c. Understand the planning of scientific research: research problem and hypotheses, theoretical foundation and appropriate experimental methodology. d. Know the different types of methodological designs and their applicability e. Select the most appropriate methodological design for a specific situation f. Communicate the results of scientific research in written and oral form, using appropriate scientific language.

Teaching Methodologies and Assessment Criteria |
RULES AND ASSESSMENT CRITERIA
1) CONTINUOUS ASSESSMENT
The Teaching–Learning Classification (CEA) will be obtained according to the following formula:
CEA = 35% M1 + 25% M2 + 40% M3
1st Component – M1 (35%)
Worksheets throughout the semester
Group work (3–4 students)
2nd Component – M2 (25%)
Oral presentation – Scientific communication at an international congress (simulation) – November 26, 2025
3rd Component – M3 (40%)
Written exam without consultation – December 10, 2025, 9:00–13:00
2) FINAL CLASSIFICATION
PASSED (*) when (CEA) = 10
FAILED () when 6 = (CEA) < 10
NOT ADMITTED when (CEA) < 6
(*) Final Classification = CEA grade, or if the student takes the Final Exam = the better of the two grades.
(**) Final Classification = Exam grade.
FINAL EXAM ASSESSMENT
The exam consists of an improvement of component M3, while the grades of the other components remain unchanged.
Final Classification (CF) = 35% M1 + 25% M2 + 40% Exam Grade
