Learning outcomes At the end of the course, the student should be able to:
a. Discuss the assumptions and applications of behavioral sciences in sport;
b. Discuss the psychosocial aspects that affect performance: underlying principles that shape relationships with significant people, motivational factors and behavioral strategies to improve sports practice;
c. Distinguish behavioral regulation strategies to improve sports practice and understand the principles of goal setting;
d. Identify and manipulate the factors that affect sporting behavior and the coach's intervention;
e. Develop strategies for identifying barriers/motives that can influence the adoption of healthy habits in exercise and health and the importance of the intervention of the Exercise-Physical Coach
f. Developing behavioral regulation strategies to optimize sports performance and the exercise and health of practitioners.
Syllabus 1. Being a sports coach: assumptions and attributes
2. Behavioral sciences in sport and exercise: behavioral influences on sports performance;
3. Organization of behaviour and management of objectives;
4. Analysis of individual performance;
5. Behavioral regulation;
6. Concepts and foundations of behavioral change;
7. Models and theories of behavioral change;
8. Reflection, planning and development of assessment and intervention processes for behavioural change in sport and well-being: levels of intervention (individual, group, organizational, community); intervention methods/strategies (identification of motives, barriers and behavioural determinants; goal setting; reinforcement in decision-making; routines; stimuli for action).

Teaching Methodologies and Assessment Criteria 1 - A group project (n=2) - project on the intervention of the coach and/or exercise technician - 60%.
2 - Presentation of the project - 10%
3 - Discussion and evaluation of the applicability and congruence of the project - 20%.
The final grade is obtained from the weighted average of elements 1, 2 and 3, in which students cannot obtain a grade lower than 10.0.
