Learning outcomes	- To provide an understanding of the fundamentals of journalistic techniques, the grasp of norms, and intensive practice of writing genres used in the press, with emphasis on the news genre. - To enable the use of the main writing techniques at the level of news production, namely the use of titles, subtitles, leads, inverted pyramid, and block construction. To introduce and practice the remaining genres, namely, interview, photo caption, report, column, and editorial.
Syllabus	1 - The Journalist Profession: Function, Status, and Ethics. 2 - News and Techniques for Constructing News Texts. 3 - Journalistic Writing: How to Write. 3.1 - Linguistic Register. 3.2 - Style (news vs. narrative; ability to synthesize; insertion of quotations; citation of sources). 4 - Techniques for relating to readers. 4.1 - Titles and subtitles. 4.2 - Superleads. 4.3 - Images and captions. 4.4 - Highlights. 5 - Introduction to other genres: 5.1 - Interview. 5.2 - Report. 5.3 - Chronicle.
