Learning outcomes a) Understand communication and culture as structuring phenomena of modern societies;
b) Identify relationships between communication and culture;
c) Critically understand the phenomena of cultural globalization;
d) Identify the transformations brought about by the emergence of modern cultural and creative industries and by new technologies in the networked society;
e) Understand the concept of identity and recognize the processes of constructing social representations and the phenomena of stereotyping in mass media and on digital social networks;
f) Identify and analyze the transformations in entertainment and forms of cultural enjoyment, as well as their media and social consequences;
g) Develop storytelling skills applied to communication, distinguishing narrative elements and strategies for capturing attention and intentionally conveying the message;
i) Critically understand the concepts of diversity, inclusion, and standpoint (“lugar de fala”).
