Learning outcomes The Course Unit aims to identify and study the fundamentals of television journalistic language, preparing students to produce content specifically designed for this medium. It seeks to equip students with the skills required to work in a television newsroom.
By the end of the Course Unit, students should be able to produce journalistic content adapted to television, including news writing, voice-over and narration, as well as image capture and video editing.
Syllabus History of television: technical evolution and social impacts.
Television communication techniques: news writing and journalistic genres.
Digital sound and image capture and processing.
Presentation and management of television news services.

Teaching Methodologies and Assessment Criteria The evaluation consists of three components:
a) News pieces: 40% (four assignments, in groups of two)
b) Report: 25% (in groups of four)
c) Assessment test: 35% (includes the production of a news piece)
Language Portuguese. Tutorial support is available in English.
