Learning outcomes This course aims to enable students to:

- critically address the notions and practices that structure ethics and communication, analyzing their historical and social foundations;

- examine ethical dilemmas considering social, political, and cultural constraints; explore historical and contemporary ethical paradigms, with attention to the ethics of care and vulnerability;

- understand how communication tools and media, including social networks, shape ethical paradigms; analyze the impact of emerging technologies, such as artificial intelligence, on communicative processes and ethical responsibilities;

- develop a reflective stance that allows acting ethically in public and professional contexts.
Syllabus 1) Ethical and Conceptual Foundations of Communication
Speaker and audience responsibilities, truth, interpretation, and virtue; core concepts and philosophical foundations.

2) Ethical Dilemmas in Communication
Personal, media, political, and professional responsibility; dilemmas such as manipulation, misinformation, performative discourse, and vulnerability.

3) Power, Discourse, and Regimes of Truth
Communication as an exercise of power; links between discourse, persuasion, and legitimizing regimes of truth.

4) Representation and Vulnerability
Communication of extreme experiences, testimony, and trauma; ethics of representation.

5) Contemporary Media and Emerging Technologies
Impact of media and social networks on ethical paradigms; changes driven by artificial intelligence and technical imagery.

6) Practical Application of Communicative Ethics
Integration of truth, responsibility, vulnerability, and care in ethical and professional practices.
