Learning outcomes 1. Critically understand the territory of the Historical Villages of Portugal, their dwelling practices, vernacular typologies, and contemporary challenges;
2. Develop analytical, surveying, and representational skills (manual drawing, photography, and critical cartography) applied to the reading of place and to the interpretation of its social, cultural, and spatial dynamics;
3. Promote design methodologies that articulate critical analysis with creative synthesis in the formulation of grounded and context-specific architectural proposals.
Syllabus Housing, Place and Context. Critical Reading.

Teaching Methodologies and Assessment Criteria Students are supervised by a lecturer in a Theoretical–Practical class format, which operates exclusively in face-to-face mode.
During classes, students develop their design work with continuous supervision from the course lecturers, complemented by theoretical sessions as well as collective presentations and critical reviews involving all class groups.
Classes are taught in pedagogical pairs (two lecturers per session) in the same classroom and simultaneously, by professors Jorge Marum / Roberto Ragazzi and Rogério Galante.
Language Portuguese. Tutorial support is available in English.
