Learning outcomes - Understand the legislative framework applicable to the inclusion of students with specific needs, with emphasis on Decree-Law No. 54/2018 and the changes introduced in relation to Decree-Law No. 3/2008;
- Identify the characteristics and needs of students with intellectual, visual, auditory, and motor disabilities, cerebral palsy, and multiple
disabilities in the context of Adapted Physical Education;
- Plan, adapt, and implement curriculum content and inclusive strategies that ensure active and meaningful participation of all students in
physical and sports activities;
- Develop pedagogical competencies to adapt practice in Physical Education classes, promoting appropriate strategies for inclusion,
organisation, and intervention based on individual student needs;
- Apply methodologies for adapting exercises, materials, spaces, and learning objectives to ensure an accessible, equitable, and supportive educational environment.
Syllabus 1. Understand the legislative framework for students with specific needs;
1.1. Know the Decree-Law 54/2018;
1.2. Understand the differences and changes relative to Decree-Law 3/2008.
2. Introduction to Pedagogy in Adapted Physical Education Classes:
2.1. Define the characteristics of students with specific needs;
2.2. Understand the methodology for adapting exercises and objectives;
2.3. Define strategies for adapting materials, space, and organization.
3. Pedagogical Intervention in Adapted Physical Education Classes
3.1. Practical intervention according to the curricular content in the inclusion of students with visual, motor, auditory, cerebral palsy,
intellectual, and developmental disabilities.

Teaching Methodologies and Assessment Criteria The evaluation will consist of three main components, each with a specific weight, aimed at assessing both the theoretical mastery and the
practical application of the knowledge acquired.
First, the written test (40%);
Second, the fieldwork involving lesson planning and practical intervention in a simulated context (40%);
Lastly, the fieldwork in a real context (20%).
Language Portuguese. Tutorial support is available in English.
