Learning outcomes With this course we intend to discuss the guidelines of current policies
education in the context of globalization, transnationalization and territorialization and discuss the
teachers' training in light of these trends.
At the end of this curricular unit, the student must be able to:
• Understand the current educational policies in the light of the contexts of globalization,
transnationalization and policies of territorial / local level;
•Reflect upon the application of educative policies and practices at national and local contexts;
•Discuss teachers’ training and envolvement facing actual educative policies guidelines;
• Analyze relevant research in the field of Educational Policies and Teachers’ Training;
• Express ideas in a reasoned manner, drawing on oral and written communication;
• Develop collaborative skills.
Syllabus 1. Educational Policies
1.1. Introduction to the concept of Educational Policy: Meaning, frame and approaches;
1.2. Horizon of current educational policies: Globalization and Transnationalization of Education;
1.3. European Policy and Global Education: Guidelines and actors;
1.4. School administration reforms and changes: The movement of school territorialization and the changes of the Sate role;
2. Teachers’ Training
2.1. The teachers and the challenges of the knowledge society: Requirements in terms of skills of professional and personal development.
2.2. The construction of professional learning cultures.
