Learning outcomes This curricular unit aims to promote refection about the ethical questions regarding the journalistic practice and raise awareness to the importance of professional ethics by emphasising the role of journalism in the general and ethic-moral formation of individuals. At the end of the unit students should be able to (i) explain the role and value of the professional ethics; (ii) state the main contents of journalistic deontology; (iii) discuss the purposes and implications of the journalists’ deontological code; (iv) evaluate the journalistic practice in the light of ethical principles and deontological norms.
