Learning outcomes This Course Unit aims to familiarize the students with the fundamental concepts of Law and transmit even deepen knowledge in the areas of commercial and corporate law. In terms of skills, it is intended to develop a critical awareness in the student that makes him able to solve problems inherent in the exercise of commercial and corporate activity. In terms of competencies, the student must be able to: i) explain the main introductory concepts of law; (ii) define and classify trade acts and qualifying persons as traders; iii) describe the special obligations of the traders; iv) state the concept of a commercial establishment and the legal business that may affect them; v) identify the distinctive signs of products and establishments and understand their normative framework; (vi) distinguish the types of commercial companies and explain its formation and legal capacity and personality.

Teaching Methodologies and Assessment Criteria • Students can choose one of the assessment regimes: a) continuous assessment; b) or by final exam.
a) In the continuous assessment regime:
- students are subject to two moments of assessment, distributed throughout the semester, namely two written tests, each worth 50% of the final grade of the course;
- to attend this evaluation regime, the student must have a minimum attendance of 50% (from the 2nd day of classes); and for your presence in class to be counted, you must be present in the classroom, or, on the online regime, connected by video conference, up to 5 minutes after the time defined in the schedule for the start of the UC; you must also have the camera turned on when the class is online.
b) In the evaluation system by final exam:
- Students are subject to a single evaluation, a written test carried out at the end of the academic semester, having to obtain a final classification equal to or higher than 10 values ??to obtain approval.
