Learning outcomes |
The course unit of History of Portuguese Architecture II aims to provide specific theoretical knowledge in the field of History of Portuguese Architecture. It is intended to provide the student with knowledge base within the scope of history that will allow the discernment and ability to understand the surrounding reality in Project activity; Develop observation skills; Describe a work of architecture; Apply the appropriate terminology; Identify the materials and techniques applied; Compare with other works of the same genre; To know and reflect on the evolution of Portuguese Architecture in time and space; Develop the ability to create work tools and theoretical support for a better interpretation of the cultural and architectural reality that allows bases for the design project. Write a research report; Present the results and conclusions in group or individual orally.

Teaching Methodologies and Assessment Criteria |
This curricular unit has a duration of one academic semester, involving 45 hours of contact in classes. The approval of this course unit gives the student 5 ECTS credits. The contact hours are organized as follows: total of 60 hours of theoretical classes (T), where is made the exposure of syllabus and the concepts and ideas underlying the syllabus contents are discussed; There is also the possibility of consulting the teacher, for individual clarification of doubts, during the period of weekly attendance. The classes are designed to present the objectives of the teaching-learning process; to sensitize students to the study of related topics; to stimulate the interest for the critical analysis and the research of information related to the discipline.
