Paulo Torrão Fiadeiro is currently an associate professor at the Department of Physics (DF) of the Faculty of Sciences (FC) of the Universidade da Beira Interior (UBI) and a senior researcher in Applied Optics and Optical Instrumentation. He is a PhD member and the Coordinator of the Fiber Materials and Environmental Technologies Research Unit (FibEnTech-UBI). He has a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering - Branch of Digital Systems and Computers by the IST (Universidade de Lisboa), Portugal (1986), a PhD in Physics - Optics from Loughborough University of Technology (LUT), United Kingdom (1995), and Aggregation in Physics by UBI (2005). His scientific domains and main interests are Applied Optics and Vision Sciences, namely digital holography, laser interference and diffraction, color, hyperspectral imaging, and visual acuity by preferential look. He is a graduate member of the Optica (Formerly OSA - Optical Society of America), of the European Academy of Optometry and Optics - EAOO, of the Institute for Systems and Technologies of Information, Control and Communication - INSTICC, of the European Optical Society - EOS, and of the Portuguese Society for Optical and Photonic Research - SPOF.
