Learning outcomes Considering the practical and clinical skills expressed in the European diploma of Optometry, at the end of the course unit, the student should be able to:

- Plan and select the contact lens that best suits a potential user based on preliminary tests and routine.
- Apply the procedures necessary for contact lenses fitting.
- Analyze and describe a contact lens fitting based on their behaviour.
- Provide and apply solutions to improve the adaptation of contact lenses.
- Select the most appropriate maintenance system according to the type and utilization schema of contact lenses.
- Plan and apply the several control and review procedures for contact lenses.
- Discuss possible alternatives to the use of contact lenses.
- Identify the physiological changes and ocular pathologies induced by contact lens wear.
