Learning outcomes |
Discuss the importance of epistemological reflection in the context of social sciences. Address the main issues that define the specificity of the various social sciences, as scientific discourse and social practice. Promote specific skills (theory, practice and concepts) on the procedures necessary for the construction of scientific discourse on social issues. Develop the capacity for observation, analysis and criticism of various social phenomena. Promote interdisciplinary dialogue between Sociology, Anthropology and Psychology, particularly in the areas of health and cultural and social behavior.

Part 1. Introduction to Social Sciences - Epistemological issues: the evolution of thought - from religion to science. - a global perspective of the social sciences: theories and social practices. - methods and techniques of social sciences.
Part 2. Interdisciplinary approach (Anthropology, Sociology, Psychology) - nature & culture: Man as a bio-psycho-social-cultural/religious unit - psychology and spirituality: neurotheology - social sciences, religion and healing practices - case studies: religion, health, traditional medicine, suicide.
