Learning outcomes	This curricular unit is an introduction to ethics, with the aim of presenting the main ethical theories of western thought, and fostering critical reflection and the ability to make informed decisions, At the end of the curricular unit the student is expected to be able to: (i) circumscribe the scope of ethics; (ii) discuss the relationship between ethics, politics and law; (iii) identify different types of ethics and describe their respective characteristics; (iv) take a stand in relation to questions of ethical nature.

Teaching Methodologies and Assessment Criteria	The theoretical classes will consist of oral presentation, and through multimedia and interactive content of the UC. A pedagogical-didactic methodology of initial exposure will be adopted, followed by commented reading of key texts previously shared and followed by critical discussion in class. The assessment is based on the completion of a written test on January 5, 2024 (45%) and a short essay, with a minimum of 4 pages (45%). Submission deadline: December 17, 2023. (oral presentation and written work). Factors such as attendance and participation in the proposed activities will also be appreciated (10%)
