Learning outcomes This course aims to provide students with practical skills to enable them to correctly and expeditiously perform basic techniques and unit operations essential for a Chemist.
At the end of the course students should be able to:
- Choose and use scales properly
- Select and handle the volume measurement material compatible with the rigor required for a given task
- Choose the right material for solution preparation
- Calibrate and use a pH meter
- Prepare a buffer solution from the base salt and a strong acid
- Determine the concentration of a solution by UV-Vis spectrophotometry
- Measure the melting point of a solid
- Wash all used material properly
