Learning outcomes • Provide a historical and systematic overview of sign studies.
• Enable students to perform different types of semiotic analysis.
• Identify the origin and historical roots of Semiotics.
• Distinguish and classify types of signs.
• Master methods and techniques of semiotic analysis.
• Differentiate between syntactic, semantic, and pragmatic fields in the use of signs.
• Be able to process information and convey it according to enunciative contexts.
• Be prepared to apply acquired knowledge of sign communication to everyday challenges.

Teaching Methodologies and Assessment Criteria Teaching Methods: • Lectures by the professor; • Provision of bibliographic and digital resources; • Assignment of exercises (individual or group work) based on course content; • Presentation of results and discussion of acquired competencies. Continuous Assessment Components: • Two written tests (semiotic analysis components).
