Learning outcomes |
At the end of the course unit the student should be able to 1 Apply knowledge previously acquired in the areas of Chemistry and Educational Sciences in the construction of didactic knowledge, in order to enable the efficient exercise of teaching 2 Critically analyze the Chemistry curricula 3 Plan teaching-learning units, develop appropriate strategies and prepare materials for the teaching of chemistry 4 Implement some teaching methodologies, namely problem solving and practical work 5 Design, plan, implement and evaluate methodologies of an investigative nature that can be applied in the teaching of chemistry 6 Reveal autonomy to deepen and update knowledge continuously

Syllabus |
1 Importance of chemistry in today's society and its relationship with other sciences 2 Analysis of the teaching-learning process (brief analysis of the various components: structure, objectives, process, environment, motivation, interaction and evaluation). Analysis of concepts. Spatial models (importance and limits of their use) 3 Problem solving in chemistry 4 Methodological aspects of the introduction of Chemistry concepts at basic and secondary level 5 Chemistry, Technology and Society 6 Mobilization of knowledge and skills previously acquired in the disciplines of Chemistry and Educational Sciences for the construction of didactic knowledge: critical analysis of the curricula of chemistry and materials for the teaching of chemistry, development of strategies, planning of teaching-learning units, and evaluation 6 Laboratory classes devoted to the exploration of techniques for the introduction of concepts for the teaching of chemistry at the primary and secondary levels
