Learning outcomes The aim of the course is to (1) familiarise students with the main cognitive, interpersonal and group processes relevant to social psychology; (2) show and value the links between social psychology and other scientific areas and (3) demonstrate the instrumental value of the subject in its application to current themes and issues.
By the end of the course, students are expected to have developed the following competences: Understanding of the object of study, areas of interest, interdisciplinary relationships and research methodologies of Social Psychology; Acquisition of theoretical knowledge about the cognitive, interpersonal and group processes addressed (social cognition, attitudes, group processes/social influence and social relationship processes); Application of the knowledge acquired to understand and critically analyse issues of social relevance; Interpersonal skills in group work; Skills in communicating ideas, problems and solutions.

2. Social Cognition:
2.1. Self and identity.
2.2. Social beliefs and judgments.
2.3. Formation of impressions and causal attribution.
3. Attitudes:
3.1. Assessment and evaluation of attitudes.
3.2. The development of attitudes.
3.3. Relationship between attitudes and behavior.
3.4. Persuasion and change of attitudes.
4. Group processes and social influence:
4.1. Conformity.
4.2. Groups and group influence.
5. Social relations processes:
5.1. Aggressive and antisocial behavior.
5.2. Altruistic and pro-social behavior.
