Learning outcomes |
Introduction to electrical and magnetic phenomena. Understanding of the fundamentals of electricity and magnetism. At the end of this CU the student must be able to apply the knowledge acquired in solving typical problems and in real situations in his area of knowledge, as well as mathematically equating problems involving electrical and magnetic interactions, combining the knowledge acquired with contents of the mathematics disciplines.

Syllabus |
Electric force. Electric field. Electric potential and electric potential energy. Electric current. Simple electric circuits. Magnetic fields. Magnetic force and applications. Sources of magnetic field. Electromagnetic induction and applications. Introduction to Maxwell equations andn electromagnetic waves.

Teaching Methodologies and Assessment Criteria |
Theoretical and problem solving classes, including demonstration videos. The evaluation is based on two written tests and homework assignments (problem solving and activities with simulation applications). The Teaching / Learning rating is calculated as CEA = 0.7 [(F1 + F2) / 2] + 0.3 TPC where F1 and F2 are the classifications obtained in the two written tests and TPC the one obtained in homework. The Exam classification is calculated using the same formula, but with the examination classification replacing the average of the written tests. The final classification is the best of the Teaching / Learning and Exam classification
