The Organizing Committee announces the forthcoming RICON19 International Conference, Brokerage Event and Lab Workshop to be held in University of Beira Interior, 11 to 13 December 2019.

The conference is intended to provide an international opportunity for exchanging ideas and latest achievements in the fields of industrial waste material valorization and the recycling of mining wastes into valuable materials for civil engineering infrastructures, structures, building products and related areas. Researchers, engineers, academics and students as well as industry professionals are welcome to participate and will certainly find new partners for future collaboration.

The Conference is preceded by a Lab Workshop on alkali-activation and accelerated carbonation technologies, to demonstrate the feasibility to obtain building materials (mortar and concrete) by reusing mining and industrial wastes and CO2. This workshop will also serve to enhance the use and mineralization of CO2 as a contribution to limiting global warming.

The RICON19 is the second REMINE conference organized within the framework of EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation Horizon 2020 Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions – Research Fellowship Programme – Research and Innovation Staff Exchange (RISE).

Similarly, to 2017 (RICON17) edition 2019 Conference Proceedings will be submitted for indexation in the main databases (Web of Science, Scopus) and all accepted papers will be published in open access format to be free to read and download.

Hoping that you will find our conference interesting, we are looking forward to receive your contributions to RICON19 and welcoming you to Portugal!

The REMINE project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under the Marie Sklodoswka-Curie agreement nº 645696.

REMINE and RICON19 conference is also co-funded by the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT).
