Learning outcomes |
Awareness of the Observation and Memory Design as instruments of knowledge of the surrounding reality that contribute to the construction of visual and material culture, fundamental to project practice. Understanding of the human body, its proportions, and possibilities of interpretation and dramatization for fashion illustration purposes. Experimentation around sketches, elaboration of basic templates for costumes, and presentation drawings (fashion illustration) aiming at the communication of concepts and creative solutions. Application of composition strategies and illustration techniques in the representation inherent to the Design Fashion project, from the scale of clothing to the accessory. Mastery of the representation of simple fabrics, with relief or patterns, among other solutions such as dentelle fabric or embroidery. Two-dimensional and volumetric drawing. Knowledge of authors and their differentiated ways of communicating through fashion illustration.

Syllabus |
Representation of the human body static and moving. Proportion, position, framing. The rethinking of canons in the context of fashion illustration. - Design as an exploratory instrument and communication of concepts in the project, in view and perspective. - Illustration techniques based on the exploration of line, hatch, textures, with the support of different instruments. - Visual communication composition strategies based on action-reaction polarity, namely Balance/Instability, Symmetry/Asymmetry, Regularity/Irregularity, Synthesis/Complexity, Economy/Profusion, Activity/Passivity, Subtlety/Audacity, Neutrality/Accentuation, Transparency/Opacity, Coherence/Variation, Realism/Distortion, Two-Dimensionality/Depth, Positive/Negative, Horizontality/Verticality, among others. Chromatic contrast. - Sequential development of design processes in the construction of templates, modules, and patterns to be applied and final illustrations of coordinates of a collection.
