Learning outcomes It is intended that students are able to evaluate and intervene in relevant contexts in accordance with the values ??and principles of Community Psychology and that they develop the following skills: Understanding the area of ??activity and the guiding principles of Community Psychology and its framing within the scope of priorities and goals set out in the SDGs, focusing on critical areas for Humanity and its communities; Characterization of the specificities of the area of ??activity of Community Psychology and the competencies foreseen in the profile of the psychologist in social and community institutions; Ability to distinguish and integrate assessment, prevention and intervention processes in an ecological approach; Ability to identify and characterize community prevention actions to promote health/well-being, empowerment and social support networks; Analysis and development of community assessment and intervention projects.
Syllabus 1. Theoretical-conceptual clarification, definition and framing of the areas of activity: Principles of Community Psychology and profile of the psychologist in social and community institutions. 2. Community assessment process: From planning to defining community intervention priorities. 3. Prevention and community intervention: Approaches aimed at promoting health and well-being. 4. Participation and empowerment: Strategies at different ecological levels. 5. Psychological sense of community and social support networks: Procedures and contexts.
Teaching Methodologies and Assessment Criteria Theoretical contact sessions: Lecture.
Theoretical-practical contact sessions: Individual and group analysis of theoretical and theoretical-practical documents; individual and group analysis of case studies; lesson planning and presentation. Student guidance in the completion of theoretical and practical work; student orientation towards the achievement of theoretical and practical activities; discussion and clarification of issues raised by students.
Evaluation strategies: Individual test for theoretical knowledge evaluation; Written theoretical-practical assignment which incorporates the following two phases (with further discussion on theoretical-practical classes): Planning/structuring or critically analysing a community intervention project. Theoretical-practical work classification will depend on participation in theoretical and practical activities.
