Learning outcomes |
Microbiology is the fundamental discipline of knowledge of microbial agents and their interaction/impact with humans and public health. This course unit aims to learn the concepts of structure, physiology, pathogenesis, genetics of microorganisms as well as their diversity, taxonomy and mechanisms of interaction with the host. Methods of diagnosis and pharmacological therapy will also be focused. The laboratory module is the complement of theoretical teaching with the main objective being the practical application of the theoretical concepts in order to consolidate the knowledge of the pathological agent and its effects in humans and society. In this way, the student is expected to acquire the bases of microbiological knowledge necessary for the exercise of his / her activity in health.
