This curricular unit aims to contribute to the development and formulation of a scientific problem, as well as to promote reflection on theories and methods suitable for its study. Learning should allow students to develop skills in using the conceptual, theoretical and methodological tools appropriate to their research plan.

a) The relevance of a theoretical model in the study of public policies;
b) Public policies as demand;
c) The selection of public policies;
d) The political decision;
e) The execution of decisions relating to public policies;
f) Public policies, homeostasis and feedback;
g) The evaluation of public policies;
h) The European Union as a growing source of public policies.
2. Multilevel governance
a) Modalities of multilevel coordination of public policies;
b) Complexity management: governance of multilevel systems;
c) Dynamics of multilevel government systems;
d) Federalism, anti-federalism and multilevel democracy.
