Global consumption of biomass, fossil fuels, metals and minerals is expected to double in the next 40 years, while annual industrial streams/residues generation is projected to increase by 70% by 2050. Half of greenhouse gas emissions and more than 90% of biodiversity loss and water stress come from resource extraction and processing.
New approaches are needed to help the industry decarbonise while transitioning to a circular impact operation and a more sustainable rural/urban development. With this purpose in mind, the university of Beira Interior, in partnership with Cluster Portugal Mineral Resources, Costa Verde Porcelana and Covilhã Municipality, welcomes you to participate in the Workshop/Conference “Eco-materials by the valorisation of industrial side-steams/residuals” to be held next October 27th and 28th. Please see the Poster attached.
