A research grant is open for research under the project Inotec – Inovative material with ultra-high ductility for the rehabilitation of the built heritage, No. 23024, co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (FEDER) through the Operational Program North.
Field of study: Civil Engineering
Admission requirements: Master Degree (5 years) on one of the following or related courses: Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Mathematics and Computer Science. English proficiency is required, of speech and of writing. Preference is given to candidates who have done research in Computational Mechanics who possess expertise in the area of programming numerical models, in particular using the finite element method.
Job description: the research will deal with: review of constitutive models used to simulate the nonlinear behavior of cementitious matrix materials; review of structural analysis models based on the Finite Element Method for numerical simulation of composite structures for analyzing nonlinear static and dynamic behavior; development of constitutive models and their implementation in FEMIX.

Workplace: The work will be developed in the Department of Civil Engineering, at the research unit ISISE-School of Engineering, University of Minho.
Grant period: The grant will have the duration of 12 months, starting in May 2013. The grant agreement may be renewed up to a maximum of 24 months.
Remuneration: The monthly remuneration is € 980, according to the rules of FCT of research grants for those who hold the Master Degree (http://alfa.fct.mctes.pt/apoios/bolsas/valores).
Methods of selection: The selection methods to be used are the following: 1) Final ranking in one of the following MsC or similar: Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Mathematics and Computer Science, 2) Publications; 3) Previous participation in research projects; 4) English proficiency; 5) Interview: 1) 25%, 2) 20% (4 points for publications in ISI journals, 3 points for not belonging to the international journal ISI, 2 points for magazines national and international conferences; 1 point for national conferences; 0.5 points to scientific technical report) 3) 10% (10 points per project, with a bonus of 3 points if the project is related to the theme of this project); 4) 10% ; 5) 10%.
