The course aims to provide participants with the central theoretical knowledge as well as practical skills to design, perform and understand nanomaterials hazard assessment. Theoretical modules will encompass the Characterization of Nanomaterials (including synthesis, instrumentation, state of the art on detection methods and Nanosafety), Environmental Release (including sources, behavior and risk assessment), and Mammalian Toxicology (including experimental designs, dosimetry, distribution and metrology, real-world exposures and Epidemiology). Each theoretical module will be complemented by a hands-on practical session, and a discussion integrating both components will end each day. The presentation and discussion of case-studies on all three core components will also deserve enhanced focus, occupying the last morning of the course.
