Scientific Area: Electrical Engineering.
Required education level and research experience: The candidates should have a Master degree or equivalent (300 ECTS) in Electrical Engineering and expertise in the areas of sustainable/renewable energy and/or electricity markets and/or smart grids.
Objectives/summary: The project studies the evolution of power systems, by designing the future scenarios and operational alternatives that form the basis of the advances needed to meet the future challenges. It is also focuses on end-users both on the perspective of exploiting energy usage behaviors and technological energy management solutions. The goal of the work associated with this grant is related to grid applications for optimized operation and improved resiliency.
Scientific supervision: The work will be supervised by Prof. Dr. João Paulo da Silva Catalão and Prof. Dr. João Carlos de Oliveira Matias, Senior Researchers of C-MAST/UBI.
Duration: 6 months, renewable, until 24 months, from January 2017.
