Learning outcomes The history of design crosses the designer’s path in the same extent that the practice of design requires a clear and critical view of the discipline. This course covers the major historical references that justify the current role of design in contemporary culture.
Learning Outcomes:
a) Understanding the historical background of design and contextualize it in each historical period;
b) Knowing the factors that led to design’s empowerment as an independent discipline of multiple specificities;
c) Master the framework of historical knowledge in design and be able to place design objects in their respective historical period;
d) Recognizing design's historical contribution towards contemporary culture.
