Learning outcomes - To provide students with knowledge and instruments of analysis on cultural associativism in Portugal, in its historical and present dimensions;
- To show the role of resistance played by cultural associativism during the Estado Novo;
- To show the importance of voluntary work in the configuration of associativism;
- To show the importance of cultural associativism in political and social dynamism;
- To provide students with instruments for the identification and analysis of cultural policies and institutions;
- To contribute to the mapping of cultural associativism in Portugal.

Teaching Methodologies and Assessment Criteria The evaluation system is governed by a “continuous evaluation” logic, covering three criteria

• An individual article, with a weighting of 50%
The article must cover a topic covered during the UC, aiming to prepare the thesis.

• A group assessment with a weight of 30%
Proposal for a social/cultural intervention project that must be presented and evaluated in a classroom context.

• Active participation in classes, contributing to debates and discussions on topics, with a weighting of 20%
Participation in class through activities via Moodle, and contribution to debates, in addition to presenting seminars.
